Overview
The Government of Kerala initiates a state-of-the-art healthcare project to modernize diagnostic facilities across its major hospitals in Ernakulam, Trivandrum, Kollam, and Kozhikode. The project involves turnkey civil engineering work for the installation of C.T. Scan and Digital Radiography (D.R.) units, ensuring seamless integration with hospital operations along with M/s Numed Systems Chennai.
Scope of Work
1. Site Assessment and Preparation:
A detailed survey is conducted to assess existing hospital infrastructure. Site preparation includes demolition of outdated sections, excavation, and leveling to provide a solid foundation for equipment rooms and ancillary facilities.
2. Design and Construction:
Civil engineers design rooms adhering to healthcare standards, emphasizing proper space planning, radiation shielding, and accessibility. Construction involves building reinforced walls with lead lining, vibration-resistant flooring, and separate power rooms for uninterrupted equipment operation.
3. Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Integration:
MEP systems are tailored to meet equipment requirements, including high-capacity HVAC systems for temperature and humidity control, advanced electrical systems for stable power supply, and plumbing for water-cooled systems where needed.
4. Installation and Testing:
Collaboration with equipment suppliers ensures precise installation of C.T. Scan and D.R. units. Engineers supervise alignment, calibration, and testing of the machines to meet performance benchmarks.
5. Compliance and Handover:
The project adheres to national and international standards for radiation safety, fire safety, and building codes. A detailed commissioning process ensures operational readiness before handover.
